Legrand Care increases security for access to the Pulse-CMP with 2-factor authentication

Unauthorized access to Pulse-CMP can have major consequences for your service provision and associated users. It is therefore vitally important to ensure that no one can make changes to the devices from the outside of the organisation or manipulate them in any way.

Legrand Care will be enabling two-factor authentication with TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) for all Pulse-CMP users, to reduce the risk of unauthorized people being able to log in to the Pulse-CMP using your credentials. The activation deadline for this is March 4th, 2024. All users who have not activated two-step authentication by that date will be activated automatically.

You are probably already familiar with two-factor authentication from other online services such as your bank, PayPal, Google or Microsoft accounts. Here, in addition to a username / email address and password, you also need additional confirmation of your identity. This confirmation is done by a "hardware token" that generates time-based "one-time" or "throwaway" passwords. If you already use a Google, Microsoft or other Authenticator app on your smartphone, you can most likely add and use another account in it for the Pulse-CMP. Besides the possibility to work with a smartphone or tablet, there is also the possibility to generate the second factor on your computer. This works quite easily with small programs or extensions for your browser.

Please note that you can only pair one device with your Pulse-CMP account. So, if you want to access Pulse-CMP on multiple devices, it is best to use a smartphone for 2 factor authentication, which you can also use on the road.

We recommend that you use the time until the final activation takes place to familiarize yourself with the new process. This way you will also avoid interruption of your access to the Pulse-CMP in your daily work.
